Intent

Ensure a later-disabled chosen theme degrades to the site default without error.

Acceptance criteria

A disabled chosen theme leaves the stored preference harmless.
Resolution returns the site default for the disabled theme.
The visitor receives a valid response without error.

Explicitly out of scope

Owner policy (E17-S03), the mutation endpoint (E18-S02) and valid-theme SSR (E18-S03).

Test plan

Test that disabling a theme after selection returns the default.
Assert the preference is retained and harmless.
Assert the response renders without an error.

Rollback note

Fallback logic only; revert the commit. No data changes.
