Intent

Verify that invalid settings degrade safely: they are rejected with a diagnostic while valid defaults keep the platform usable (section 65).

Acceptance criteria

Invalid settings are rejected with a field-specific diagnostic.
Valid defaults keep the affected capability usable rather than crashing the platform.

Explicitly out of scope

Duplicate extension ID (E26-T04) and missing theme (E26-T06).

Test plan

Supply invalid settings and assert rejection with a diagnostic while the platform stays available.

Rollback note

Test-only; restoring valid settings returns to normal.
