Intent

Enforce settings validation server-side so the admin form is only a convenience.

Acceptance criteria

The server rejects invalid settings regardless of admin form input.
Invalid settings place the extension in a config/error state with diagnostics.

Explicitly out of scope

The generic settings admin renderer (E12-S02) and persistence (E12-S01).

Test plan

Submit out-of-schema settings to the API and assert rejection without activation.

Rollback note

Relax the validation gate or revert; no data migration is required.
